Fishing Repoert July 7, 2023 Ucluelet BC

Chinook fishing has been a little tougher than we would have liked the past week. We are still getting some good bites just not in the spot we were expecting and spent the most time in. The Chinook are even closer to the harbour than before and so that is not a bad thing. Our top boat today got 8 Chinook with the biggest being mid teens. We have been getting some nice fish at Flo but that fishing has slowed down the past week. There are also a few coho showing up right outside the harbour.

Halibut fishing has been moving further and further offshore the past few days and now the best halibut bites are coming from Big Bank. The offhsore Chinook fishing opens July 15 so we are thinking that is most likely where we will be headed though test fisheries haven't been great yet offshore from what we have heard.

Update for Halibut limits.

Effective at 00:01 hours July 08, 2023 until 23:59 hours on December 31, 2023:

OR
